Prof. Rod Sinclair, MD Offers Free Skin Screenings with Canfield’s VECTRA® WB360
Living in a country with the world’s highest rates of skin cancer, many Australians face significant challenges in accessing timely and affordable skin screening services. Australia 9News recently featured Prof. Rod Sinclair, MD, the director of Sinclair Dermatology, and one of his patients, reinforcing the importance of accessible whole-body skin screenings. To help reduce barriers and encourage proactive skin health, Sinclair Dermatology in East Melbourne is now offering free skin screening using Canfield Scientific’s trailblazing VECTRA® WB360 whole-body imaging system.
The VECTRA WB360 captures the patient’s entire exposed skin surface and body contour with a single, instantaneous capture. The system is designed for efficient consultations with minimized photography time in part to reduce patient anxiety. In the 9News segment, patient Simon Williamson highlights the experience: “It is an easy process-completely.”
Powered with advanced total body skin surveillance software, DermaGraphix®, the VECTRA Whole Body 3D System plays a central role in Prof. Sinclair’s clinical workflow. As Prof. Sinclair explains: “We need a system that is efficient and that can allow people to get a baseline assessment…to allow us to in a virtual sense lift every mole of a person’s skin [and] put them in a separate window for examination.”
VECTRA WB360 enables dermatologists to easily examine individual lesions, capture detailed dermoscopic images, monitor skin changes over time, and facilitate appropriate treatment planning. Mr. Williamson also shared that his screening led to the removal of a suspicious lesion. His experience reinforces the life-saving potential of accessible high-quality skin checks for early detection: “I am fairly certain that if I never got checked and we didn’t catch it when we did, it would have spread.”
VECTRA WB360 continues to expand across Australia, supporting dermatologists, clinicians and researchers in their efforts to improve access to efficient, comprehensive skin assessments nationwide.
