“The VECTRA H1 is fantastic. We started out using it for rhinoplasty but have found that it's perfect for injectables and facial rejuvenation procedures as well. This is the best way for patients to see themselves as we see them, which is simply not possible with 2D photography or a mirror. And it's so easy that my staff takes all the pictures. I don't have to do much of anything.
About four years ago, board certified facial plastic surgeon Laxmeesh Mike Nayak, M.D. decided it was time to bring 3D imaging into his facial plastic surgery practice. He did not have the space for a camera room in his 8,000 square foot building and was looking for a portable solution. However, the first system he bought proved to be unreliable and did not deliver the quality that he had expected. Then he found the VECTRA H1. "As soon as I saw it in action, I said that's it, we're done playing around with the other system. We're going to abandon it and switch to VECTRA. And the VECTRA is fantastic. It works exactly as it's supposed to and then some."
These days, VECTRA 3D imaging in Dr. Nayak's practice is standard procedure in almost every consult. And he has come to appreciate benefits that he did not anticipate at the outset. "The images are amazingly clear and realistic. Patients can really appreciate the quality and texture of their skin, good or bad, much better on the screen than they can in a mirror. This has been extremely valuable in consults for facial rejuvenation. And patients find it exciting. They see our practice as more professional and high tech."
Dr. Nayak completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University, where he majored in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. He earned his medical degree at Washington University and performed his surgical residency at Harvard Medical School, studying general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and head and neck surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He has extensive experience in rhinoplasty, cosmetic surgery of the aging face, facial volumetric surgery, minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, and skin rejuvenation with peels, lasers, and injectable fillers.
