“VECTRA® 3D has made it possible for me to do simulations for rhinoplasty, chin augmentation and facial contouring. I can easily reshape the nose, pull in the jawline or change volumetric relationships in the midface. Because my patients have the opportunity to ask for changes or see the result from a different angle they are much more knowledgeable about what is achievable, what to expect and the number of steps it takes to achieve certain results. It makes a huge difference.
A strong believer in specialization, Dr. Holcomb defines his practice with a very specific range of procedures, while performing each of them at the highest possible level. "The trend in medicine has long been toward sub-specialization, and that's what people expect" he explains. "By focusing on facial plastic and cosmetic laser surgery I may limit myself, but I also benefit because my patients are looking for someone who is highly specialized".
Dr. Holcomb's focus on these procedures led him to Canfield Imaging Systems for solutions to improve his consultations. His first acquisition, the VISIA Complexion Analysis System, quickly became an integral part of the consultation process for skin care treatments. In 2010, recognizing the potential for his facial plastic surgery patients, Dr. Holcomb installed a VECTRA M3 facial imaging system. With its high resolution 3D imaging, and Sculptor aesthetic simulation software, he was able to elevate his patient consultations and education to an entirely new level.
Dr. Holcomb is a double board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, past president of the Florida Society of Facial Plastic Surgeons and the Sarasota County Medical Society. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas and completed his residency training at the University of Iowa's Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He subsequently completed a fellowship in advanced cosmetic facial plastic surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
