“Imaging is an essential function in today’s dermatology practice. In my practice, where I strive to deliver the highest standard of care to my patients every day, I use the best quality imaging systems available, which are from Canfield.
Medical Imaging in Dermatology and Scientific Research
“Our centers in Barcelona, The Skin Cancer Unit of the Hospital Clinic and Diagnosis Dermatologica, are dedicated specifically to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancer. Imaging with total body photography (TBM), digital dermoscopy, in vivo and ex-vivo confocal microscopy (CM), and OCT/LC-OCT modalities are a pillar of our care for monitoring high-risk skin cancer patients and we have now implemented the Canfield IntelliStudio and WB360 for body photography and D200evo digital dermatoscopes for the treatment of patients with pigmented skin lesions and early diagnosis of skin cancer. These integrated systems, which image the patient’s body either in 2D and 3D using normal or cross-polarized light, and the combination with CM and OCT/LC-OCT, clinical information, and genetics allow me to pursue my passion for scientific research and help me develop advanced algorithms and AI tools to explore important scientific questions in deep phenotyping. Our number of patients attended in our centers increases every year and the Canfield digital imaging solutions allow us to achieve an efficient patient's workflow with the best quality and security.”
